William Norfleet "Bill" Wright Obituary

William "Bill" Wright, 83, of Independence, Mo., passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO, 64055. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Bill was born on November 28, 1934, in Washington, N.C., to Surry and Dorothy (Norfleet) Wright. He worked as a graphic designer at Gill Studios for 35 years and a member of Maywood Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed classic cars, traveling in the southwest with his wife, and building control line model airplanes, competing in 4 world championships. Bill enjoyed utilizing his creativity and designing things.

He will be remembered by his wife, Norma "Kathleen" Wright of Independence, Mo.; son, Doug Wright and wife, Jessica, of Tennessee; grandchildren, Wes Maack, Morgan Maack, Chris Wright, Amy Wright and Evan Wright; great-grandson, Judah Wright; plus extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deanna Maack; and brother, James "Jim" Wright.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Maywood Baptist Give, Serve, Reach Fund.
