Aldred Leo Lefman Obituary
Alfred Leo Lefman, 89, of Independence, Mo., passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 18, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence. Private graveside services will be held in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.

Alfred was born June 7, 1924, in Corder, Mo., to Oscar and Meta (Meinershagen) Lefman. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the service, he went to work at Standard Oil in Sugar Creek, Mo., and worked there for over 32 years until he retired in the early 1980's. He enjoyed fishing and working on his house. He was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ.

He is survived by a daughter, Alice Davis of Liberty, Mo.; a son, Bruce Lefman and wife, Barbara, of Independence, Mo.; a brother, Lester Lefman of Kansas City, Mo.; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae E. Lefman in 2011, a sister, Anna Louise Morstain, and two brothers, Elmer Lefman and Ralph Lefman.
