Faye was born on May 10, 1921, in Humansville, Mo., to the late Charles T. and Minnie Matilda (Earnest) Akins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Homer, Ralph, Roy, A.J., Gearl, Charles Junior Akins; sisters, Opal Smith, Pearl Bates, Marie Nafus, Bonnie Gregg; and infant sister and brother, Beulah and Loyd Akins.

She leaves behind two children, Goldie "Sue" Gfeller and husband, Don, of Blue Springs, Mo., and James Lee Gibb and wife, Sara, of Blue Springs, Mo.; two grandchildren, Mike Gibb and wife, Maureen, and Ann Papasifakis; four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Gracelyn, Gwenyth Gibb and Rebekah Papasifakis; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
