FAIRBORN Gene (Geno) Helton, age 54 of Fairborn passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Geno was born on October 18, 1958 in Dayton, Ohio.
Gene was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alice Helton, Jesse Helton and Atley Adkins; Uncles Clayton Helton, James Helton, and Frank Helton; Aunts Shirley Gran (Helton) and Reva Anderson,
Gene is survived by his parents, Hager & Phyllis Helton; children, Lindsay Nicole Helton and Morgan Elizabeth Helton; sisters, Janna Howard (Joe Howard) and Jennifer Flynn (Todd Flynn); nephews, Joey & Michael Howard, Gary Helton, Lee Lewis, Tina Lewis and Carson Flynn; nieces, Teresa Beckman and Kenzie Flynn; Uncle Jackie Helton; Aunts Besse Helton, Myrtle DeWitt and Brenda Comer.
Gene graduated from Park Hills High School on June 8, 1976 and went on to graduate form the University of South Carolina in May of 1982 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Gene was a huge fan of all sports, especially softball and rugby. He played rugby for the University of South Carolina. His motto was: You practice like you play, 100%, injured or not injured.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Faith Hill Church of God, 35 Vanderbilt Drive, Fairborn, Ohio at 1:00 on Saturday, May 25, 2013 with Pastor Dan Smith officiating.
