Margie B. Hoxie

DAYTON With her children holding her hands, Margie B. Hoxie, 89, died peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on October 23, 2013 due to complications from pneumonia. Mrs. Hoxie, cherished wife of 63 years to (Lt. Col. ret.) Lloyd E. Hoxie, was a 40-year resident of Fairborn and former member of Mary Help of Christians Church before moving with her husband to Kettering in 2005. During her life, Mrs. Hoxie was most proud of being an Air Force wife and mother to her four children. For 30 years, she was a Red Cross Nurse volunteer at WPAFB Medical Center. Born in Wilson, OK, on October 3, 1924, Mrs. Hoxie grew up in Oklahoma City. Mrs. Hoxie loved beautiful things, especially every kind of flower and bird. She is survived by her husband, who devoted himself to her care in her later years, and four children, Lynn (and the late James Crowe), Gayle (and Carl Buskuhl), Mark (and Diane), and Scott (and Tracey), 9 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday Oct. 25. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday Oct. 26 at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of St. Charles Borromeo at 4500 Ackerman Blvd. in Kettering.
