Marilyn Bennington

DAYTON — Marilyn A. Bennington, age 85 of Shelbyville, IN, formerly of Vandalia and Tallassee, TN, passed away Tuesday May 27, 2014. She was born June 2, 1928 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Melvin and Lucille (Opdyke) Thomas. Marilyn was employed as a teacher with Fairborn City Schools, retiring after 35 years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Kraft. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard; two children, Terry Bennington of Fairborn, Traci (Michael) Eggleston of Shelbyville, IN; two step-children, Tim (Margaret) Bennington of Oregon, Cindy Marcou of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren, Jordan, Jamie, Jerron, Taylor, Angelica, Thomas, Laurel, Kayla; and a brother, David (Jan) Thomas of Miamisburg. The family will receive friends on Monday June 2, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 3, 2014 at 10:00 A.M., Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating.
