Angels took her home on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013. Lorraine loved Dayton and resided there from 1940-2010 when she moved to Xenia. Born in Louellen, KY, she was the Daughter of Luther Ledger, Sr. and Nell Ledger and celebrated her 90thHalloween BD October 31, 2012. She married W. Ray Crider in Indiana in 1940 and is survived by their Son, Raymond (Diane), Alberton, MT, Grandchildren Daniel (Amy), Mark (Jennifer), Matthew, Timothy, all of Missoula, MT and Rebekah Crider, Berrien Springs, MI; Great-Grands, Kaleigh, Ashley & Julie; she is also survived by their Daughter, Sharon (Jerry), Jamestown, OH, step-grandchildren, Melanie (Dave) Blommel, Redmond, WA, Jill (Dale) Steele, Memphis, TN and Jered (Nikki) Raflik, Springboro and their children, Alex, Monica and Wade Blommel, Casey McMurdo and Kyle Steele, Livi and Dayton Raflik, as well as beloved nieces and nephews and other relatives, 'adopted' Daughters, Nancy Rohrer, CeCe Thurston, Nancy Berg and many other special friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents, three younger Brothers and their wives: Jack, Asa (Sally) and Luke (Marcia) Ledger, as well as a nephew, niece and other relatives. Lorraine worked at Rike's and retired from the Hertz Corp. in 1987. She had her Realtor's sales license for 40 yrs and enjoyed helping people. She was a 60 yr member of Grace United Methodist Church, volunteering there in several capacities, and as a member of ABWA worked at U.D. Arena to earn scholarship money; also a member of OES, Sunbeam Chapter, twice as Worthy Matron. Lorraine was a Girl Scout Leader and came to several CWHS61 Class Reunions just to see 'her kids'. She loved her Family very much and was an advocate for the less fortunate and 'underdogs'. She was a kind and loving spirit until her illnesses took over, and an independent spirit with a sense of humor, even in these last years of personal misery. Her Family would like to thank all caregivers, especially the nurses, aids and caring staff at Greenewood Manor, Elmcroft of Xenia, Hospice of MV, as well as family and friends who stuck by her. She, and we, appreciated your many kindnesses and prayers. As in life, Sarah Lorraine Crider was giving in death, and donated her body to WSU School of Medicine.
