XENIA Frances Esther Rotroff, age 83 of Xenia, passed away Saturday June 29, 2013. Esther was born in Cedarville, Ohio on September 22, 1929, the daughter of Harvey and Frances Jeanetta (Rittenhouse) Lovett.
Her husband of 62 years, David Max Rotroff, passed away November 2006. She attended both Cedarville and Spring Valley schools in Greene County. She attended Dayton Avenue Baptist Church in Xenia.
She is survived by three children, Kenneth (Jeanne) of Xenia, Ronnie (Loraine) of Hermitage, Tennessee and Susie (Les) Frase of Xenia. Seven grandchildren: Terri Scoby, Tiffani Johnston, Kelly Wingert, Jenny Allex, Felicia Moon, Jamie Wilhite and Jessica Rotroff. Twenty Great Grandchildren Max Scoby, Jacob Scoby, Jhett Peck, Jackson Johnston, Chloe Johnston, Henry Johnston, Wesley Wingert, Sarah Wingert, Nathan Wingert, Shawn Allex, Samuel Allex, Ryan Allex, Dylon Clark, Zayda Moon, Jordan Rotroff, Dalton King, Braydon King, Brenna Rotroff, Cody Rotroff and Madison Booker. Three surviving siblings; Helen Shaneyfelt, George and Neil Lovett all of Xenia. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters June Varvel, Shirley Carroll and Doris Earley and a brother Richard Lovett.
Esther grew up in and around Cedarville, Ohio where she raised her family. She and her husband moved to Hillsboro, Ohio after his retirement from Morris Bean and Company and to Xenia in 2003. Both were active in several organizations. She was a past member of the ABWE and the VFW Women's Auxilary. She holds shooting records in the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the ladies at Elmcroft.
Funeral Services will held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc. 826 N. Detroit Street, Xenia with Pastor Jon Young officiating. Burial will be in the Massie Creek Cemetery, Cedarville Twp. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
