FAIRBORN — Harry M. Gasperini, age 95 of Jamestown, formerly of Fairborn, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013. He was born in Smithmill, Pennsylvania on April 24, 1918, the son of the late Gasper and Sylvia (Messini) Gasperini. Harry came to Ohio from Bridgeton, New Jersey, and was employed at Wright-Patterson AFB, first as a Security Guard and later in the Fuels Division, retiring with 30 years of service. He enlisted in the Army twice and was a World War II veteran, awarded the Purple Heart in 1945; and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. Harry was an avid walker while living in Fairborn for over 40 years. His other memberships included the Fairborn Senior Citizens and the Cedarville Senior Citizens. Harry loved his morning coffee at McDonalds and he enjoyed bingo. He was a loving dad, grandpa, father-in-law and befriended those he met. His family and friends will miss his gentle spirit. He is survived by two daughters, Suzanne (Thomas) Moss of Beavercreek, Betty (Mark) Webb of Jamestown; granddaughter, Christina Palilla (Tim Nurkiewicz) of Tennessee; grandson, Matthew Webb of Jamestown; granddaughter, Sarah Webb (fiancé, Justin Boutwell) of Fairborn; step-granddaughter, Stephanie (Lonnie) Saathoff of Texas and their children, Isabelle and Isaac; step-grandson, SPC William Moss of Maryland; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Eolla Viventi, Yollanda White, and Gertrude Dramas, all of New Jersey; and a brother, Casper (Rose) Gasperini, also of New Jersey. The family would like to thank Gem City Home Care, Emeritus at Fox Run, and Soin Medical Center for their care. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
