FAIRBORN — Alva Arnold Thrasher, age 84 of Fairborn, passed away Saturday March 15, 2014 in the Hospice of Dayton. She was born March 12, 1930 in McKee, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Green B. and Nancy M. (Sparks) Isaacs. Alva was employed by the U.S. Government in civil service at DESA, retiring in July of 1974. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt; and will be missed by all who loved her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by first husband, Homer Arnold; second husband, Doyle L. Thrasher, Sr.; children, George Arnold, Mary Lou Blanton, Doyle L. Thrasher, Jr., Debbie Moss; three brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by a son, David Thrasher; grandchildren, Brenda, Angela, Kelly, Wendy, Jessica, Carrie, Tony, Logan; great-grandchildren, Bo, Marie, Jerzie, Carson, Ethan, Kylynn, Harley, and Aiden. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 19, 2014 at 12:00 noon in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Tim Walden officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
