FAIRBORN Christy Eldridge Mixon, age 55, of Fairborn, OH, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013, in the Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OH. She was born October 9, 1957, in Dayton, OH, the youngest daughter of Samuel and Tealie (Wright) Eldridge. In addition to her parents, her two sisters, Bertha Mae Eldridge and Linda Gail Grider, and her father-in-law, John Mixon, also preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Randy, Sr. and four children, Dawn (Mark) Holding of Xenia; Randy Mixon, Jr. of Fairborn; Amy (Jason) Kuntz of MO; Amber (Lat) Louprasong of Beavercreek; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, Alexis, Morgan, Evan, Kayden, and Oliver; a sister, Lois (Jackie) (Charles) Severt, Sr., of Spring Valley; mother-in-law, Sharlene Mixon of Fairborn; two brothers-in-law, John (Kathy) Mixon of Riverside, and Daniel Grider of Fairborn; sister-in-law, Janet (Clarence) Barnes of Fairborn; and Brian Rogers of Dayton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. Christy was a devout Christian, devoted wife, and proud stay-at-home mother of four. After getting her children out of diapers, she challenged herself to return to college in order to help provide for her family with a successful career in nursing. She loved being an oncology/cancer nurse and cared for her patients on their final journey with great empathy and passion, displaying the same compassion as she had for her late mother. She persevered to maintain her RN designation throughout her life challenges. She was a member of General Baptist Church in Fairborn for many years, making many lifelong friendships, which continue today. A graduate of the Park Hills Class of 1974, she held a number of high school friends close to her heart and helped organize several class reunions. Her greatest success was her role as "Mamaw" for her seven grandchildren whom she adored and loved more than anything. She will always be remembered for the lessons of love, acceptance, and patience that she demonstrated everyday as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend in our lives. We will miss her deeply, although we will never stop loving her. Soon we will all be together again in Heaven. The family will receive friends (Today) Wednesday July 31, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E.
