FAIRBORN — Allen "Pete" Combs, age 78 of Fairborn, went home to be with the Lord on February 1,2014 in Florida. Pete was born in Knox County, Kentucky, to the late Dennis and Hattie (Kelly) Combs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ada Lee Combs; and a brother, Arlos Combs. Pete is survived by his son, Thomas F.Combs; his three brothers, John, Howard and Mark; and his four sisters, Ailene Walton, Shirley Hayes, Ruth Kisarewich, and Linda Turner, all of Ohio. In addition, Pete is also survived by his close friend. Ann Cantrell; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Pete served in the US Army. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid outdoorsman and loved all activities associated with it. Pete, Ada, and his brothers were owners of numerous businesses, including a construction company for over 25 years. A funeral service will be held on Monday February 10, 2014 at 12:00 noon in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Chris Tannreuther officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will follow in the Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either Hospice of Dayton or the Dayton Episcopal Food Pantry in memory of Ada and Pete Combs.
