FAIRBORN — USAF MSgt. (Ret.) Taylor Thompson, age 78 of Fairborn, passed away Saturday May 3, 2014. He was born November 6, 1935 in Harts, West Virginia, the son of the late Cecil and Erie (Moore) Thompson. Taylor served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Korea and Vietnam, retiring in 1976 at the rank of Master Sergeant; and followed with employment in civil service at DESC, retiring in 1993 after 39 years of combined federal service. He attended WPAFB Chapel 2 for many years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harlin and Britton. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mise; two sons, Allen (Niria) Thompson of Bellbrook, Glenn (Maria) Thompson of Albuquerque, NM; six grandchildren, Hannah, Neil, Tara, Jennifer, Christopher, Emilio; two great-granddaughters; four brothers, Lucian, Cecil, Tommy, Jerry; three sisters, Nola, Mary, Susie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday May 8, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Friday May 9, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Byron Cemetery.
