Mario Ares Sr.

FAYETTEVILLE - Retired Master Sgt. Mario Ares Sr., of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, a Bronze Star recipient, paralegal and retired Lumberton High School educator. Mr. Ares was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Alfonsa; and his sisters, Carmen, Juana, Providencia, Basilisa, Maria and Justa. Mr. Ares is survived by his wife, Lois Ares; two sons, Mario Ares Jr. and Tony Ares; two daughters-in-law, Lynda Ares and Kimberly Ares; a sister, Felicita Ares; a grandchild, Martina Ares; and a multitude of loving nephews and nieces. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, in the Reeves Funeral Home chapel in Hope Mills. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens. Services entrusted to Reeves Funeral Home of Hope Mills.
