LUMBERTON - Mrs. Pearl Marie Barkley, 76, of Lumberton died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, in Southeastern Hospice House. She was born in Robeson County on Sept. 25, 1932, daughter of the late Isley and Pearl Lamb Wilcox. Mrs. Barkley was a member of North Lumberton Baptist Church. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Jan. 3, 2009, from North Lumberton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Allen Admire, the Rev. Dr. Russell T. Cherry Jr. and the Rev. John Spence officiating . Burial will follow in Gardens of Faith Cemetery. Survivors include her two grandsons, Shaun Barkley and wife Lea of Orrum, and Ryan Barkley and fiancee Kathleen of Wilmington; great-grandson, Walker Barkley; three brothers, Howard F. Wilcox and wife Molly, George I. Wilcox and wife Joyce, and Howell L. Wilcox, all of Lumberton; sister, Janice W. Bracey of Rowland; several nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Barkley of Columbia, S.C. Mrs. Barkley was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Andrew Barkley; and a son, Michael A. Barkley. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Biggs Funeral Home in Lumberton. Memorials may be directed to the
