FAYETTEVILLE - Miss Sarah Katherine Grantham, 19, died Monday, May 4, 2009, in New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. Miss Grantham was born in Germany on Jan. 2, 1990. She graduated from South View High School and attended Fayetteville Technical Community College. She is survived by her mother, Anita S. Fields and her husband Gene of Flat Rock; her father, Hiram Grantham IV and his wife, Deborah, of Fayetteville; one brother, H.B. Grantham of Fayetteville; two special brothers, Nick Fields of Flat Rock and James Spaulding of Elk View, W.Va.; three special sisters, Amber Gaedtke and her husband, Justin, of Maryland, Elizabeth Cogswell and her husband, Chris, of Honolulu and Tish Youngvall of Fayetteville; her maternal grandmother, Betty Brewer of Lumberton; her maternal grandfather, John Simmons Jr. and his wife, Sue, of Rowland; and her paternal grandmother, Marcella Grantham of Red Springs. The family will receive relatives and friends between the hours of 7 and 9 tonight, May 7, 2009, at Crumpler Funeral Home, 220 E. Fourth Ave., Red Springs, and after the service in the fellowship hall of Red Springs Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2009, in Red Springs Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Michael McGehee officiating.
