INDIAN LAND, S.C. - Mrs. Kathleen Kelleher Bowman "Kaye" Morgan, 73, who resided in Indian Land, S.C., and was formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., hung up her fighting gloves in exchange for a well-deserved pair of angel wings Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013. She passed away peacefully at Memorial Springs Hospital in Lancaster. A celebration of Kaye's life will be held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, in St. Mary's Chapel at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Charlotte, N.C., with Monsignor John J. McSweeney officiating. A time of visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. today in the chapel. Kaye was born Nov. 3, 1939, in Barre, Vt., to the late John Joseph Kelleher and the late Glenna Metivier Kelleher. Kaye was raised in Elmira, N.Y., and graduated from Edison High School in Elmira Heights, N.Y. Kaye had a lifelong real estate career that included employment with Arran Realty, Yates Homes, Century 21 and Terry Spell Realty, all in Fayetteville. She was co-owner of the Realty Centre and co-owner of Kiddie Kastle Day Care Center. Above all, her biggest accomplishment was her devotion to her children and family. She took pride in all they did. She was skilled in needlework and playing the piano and enjoyed traveling. She will be remembered as an incredible mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and caring friend. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, James Bowman. She is survived by her son, James David Bowman of Fayetteville; daughter, Brenda Bowman Williams of Indian Land; grandson, James Gonzales of Anchorage, Alaska; granddaughter Madison Bowman of Fayetteville; her great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and James Gonzales of Fayetteville; her sister, Patricia Kelleher of Lake Wales, Fla.; and her deceased siblings - brother, John Kelleher and sister, Theresa Granger, both from Elmira, N.Y.; and ex-husband, Jeff Morgan. The family wishes to express deep appreciation to Regency Hospice and Home Care of Lancaster. Special gratitude is extended to Dr. Daniel Haggstram, Dr. Benjamin Bringardner, Dr. William Bobo and Dr. Wendy Brick. Thanks for their excellent medical care, as well as their genuine, ongoing concern and encouragement.
