Ruth Epperson

ATTICA - Ruth A. (Jahnke) Epperson Neal, 95, Attica, passed away at the I.U. Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at 2:43 p.m.
Ruth was born in Hillsboro on Feb. 8, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Emil and Ethel (Combs) Jahnke. Ruth was raised in Hillsboro, graduating from Hillsboro High School. She has resided in Attica for most of her life.
Ruth had worked in the purchasing department of C & D Batteries. She retired in 1993.
Ruth was a member of the Attica Christian Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 and Ladies of the Moose Lodge, both of Attica. Ruth enjoyed traveling, camping, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She was an avid Indiana Pacer fan.
Ruth was first married to Albert Ralph Epperson on Aug. 27, 1938 in Portland Arch. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1970. On July 24, 1992, Ruth married Paul Edward "Bud" Neal in Attica. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1998.
Ruth leaves behind her son, Terry Richard (companion - Lynda Olson- Bainbridge) Epperson, Attica; two grandsons, Terry Albert (companion- Samantha Walton) Epperson, Lafayette and Justin Lee Epperson, Crawfordsville; two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Lisanna Epperson; several nieces and nephews; two sisters, Dorothy Neal and Ruby Hershberger, both of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Dorn and two brothers, Ernest and Karl Jahnke.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, Jan. 24, from 5 - 8 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m. with Bill Alenduff officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro.
