Attica - Larry R. Brown, 65, Attica, passed away at the I.U. Health Hospital, Lafayette, on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 8:15 p.m.
Larry was born in Sheldon, Ill., on July 5, 1947. He was the son of the late John S. and Dorothy (Wilkerson) Brown. Larry was raised in Oxford, graduating from Oxford High School in 1966. He later lived in Newtown before moving to Attica in 1978.
Larry worked at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica for 43 years. At the time of his retirement in 2009, Larry was the Storeroom Supervisor.
He had attended and was baptized in the Sterling Christian Church. Larry had served on the Attica Volunteer Fire Department and was the former Assistant Fire Chief. He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 1482 of Attica. His hobbies included golfing and cooking. He especially enjoyed his family and spending time with grandchildren and going on family vacations.
On December 20, 1975, Larry married Norma L. Harper in Fowler.
Larry leaves behind his wife, Norma L. Brown of Attica; his two daughters, Angela (Jon) Anderson, Arcadia; Karen (Peter) Shoaf, Attica; two brothers, David (Beverly) Brown, Attica and John (Shirley) Brown, Lafayette; two sisters, Shirley (Paul) Barton, Rainsville and Carole Lockwood, Pine Village; five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Lockwood.
Services were held at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on January 2 with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
