Williamsport - Stephanie Sue Switzer, 48, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Williamsport, on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at 3:40 p.m.
Stephanie was born in Lafayette, on Jan. 22, 1965. She was the daughter of Clara Mae (Harshbarger) Johnston Switzer and the late Charles F. Switzer. She was raised in Attica, moving to Battle Ground in 1971. She has resided in Williamsport since 1991.
Stephanie graduated from Harrison High School in 1983 and later receiving her BA degree in Communications from Purdue University. In May of 2013, Stephanie received her Paralegal Degree from Ivy Tech.
Stephanie had formerly worked for the Warren County Highway Department as a secretary for 12 years. She more recently had been working at J.C. Penney in Lafayette and also volunteered as a paralegal for the Legal Aid Society in Lafayette.
Stephanie had served in the U.S. Air Force. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She enjoyed her cats and was interested in international affairs. She enjoyed traveling abroad and loved to cook. She enjoyed her flower gardening and her Avon products.
Stephanie leaves behind her mother, Clara Mae Switzer, Williamsport; her four sisters, Jean (partner-Miriam Langsam) Oswalt, Indianapolis; Julia (partner-John Spear) Lawrence, Crawfordsville; Jody (Charles) Zink, Delphi; Mercy (Steve) Devault, Green Hill; a brother, Bill (Brenda) Johnston, Brookston; four nieces, two nephews, three great-nieces and a great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles F. Switzer.
Services were held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Nov. 24 with Pastors Steve Padgett and Charles B. Anderson officiating. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
