Veedersburg - Garnet Lee "Lee" Price, 65, formerly of Newtown and Veedersburg, passed away at the Woodland Manor Nursing Center, Attica, on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 6:45 a.m.
Lee was born in Williamsport, on October 31, 1946. He was the son of the late Lester Price and Elizabeth (Harrison) Price Griggs Jaynes. He was raised in Newtown and attended Richland Township School. He later moved to Potomac where he lived for several years before moving to Covington in th 1980's. He then moved to Veedersburg and lived for 15 years until moving to the Woodland Manor in Attica in 1994.
Lee formerly worked at General Motors in Danville, Ill., until his disability. While working at General Motors he was known as "Fonzie".
On March 12, 1965, Lee married Loretta S. Nickles in Veedersburg.
While living at Woodland Manor, Lee always enjoyed "Coffee Hour". He enjoyed the time he spent with his family. He was loved and will be missed by the staff and residents of Woodland Manor.
Lee leaves behind his four children, Jamie (Jim) Shackelford, Attica; Robert (Pamela) Price, Veedersburg; Travis (Cheryl) Price, Waynetown and Brian (Julie) Price, Covington; his three brothers, Bill (Dortie) Price, Attica; Frank Joe (Sharon) Price and Richard (Kathy) Price, both of Williamsport; a sister, Sharon Swearingen, Bridgeton; four grandchildren, Ashlee Waling, Allison, Seth and Montana Price; Shanae Messmore; three step grandchildren, Steven Savanna and Rebecca Shackelford; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Paige Messmore. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ronna Sue Price and a brother, Paul Wayne Price.
Friends may gather at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, July 3, from 6 p.m. until the service time at 8 p.m. with Pastor Joe Congleton officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Potomac Cemetery, Potomac, Ill.
