Stoffel, Leo G. "Doc'

Leo G. "Doc" Stoffel, 79, of West Bend, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at the Kathy Hospice. He was born April 20, 1933, in Ashford, to the late John and Kathryn (nee Welsch) Stoffel and married Patricia I. Serwe on October 1, 1955, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Theresa.

Leo served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and then served in the National Guard for six years. He was employed at Regalware for over 40 years.

Leo owned Leo & Pat's in Nabob from 1973 until 1983. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing and relaxing at his place in Rhinelander.

He was a member of the Fr. Casper Rehrl Council #1964 Knights of Columbus and the Sacred Heart Auto League.

Leo is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia; six children, Ronald (Janet) of Rhinelander; Doug (Marta) of Neenah; Bruce of West Bend; Dean of West Bend; Beth (Cory) Schrader of West Bend; and Mark (Susan) of Germantown; and eight grandchildren, Lia, DJ (Kara), Kenny, Elissa, Bryce, Abigail, Carina and Eliana. He is further survived by his sister, Lucille Steger of Lomira; his sister-in-law, Shirley Stoffel of West Bend; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Kathryn Stoffel; his grandsonm Scott Stoffel; and his brothers and sisters, Ray, Alois (Rita), Jerome, Lorraine (Benno) Simon, Sylvester (Vi) and Marcella (Gregor) Beisbier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 17, 2012, at noon at St. Matthias Chapel in Nabob, with burial following in the parish cemetery. Rev. Joseph Dominic will preside. The visitation will be Monday, at the church from 9 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.

The Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend is serving the family.
