Krug, Daniel L. "Danny'
Daniel "Danny" L. Krug, 61, died on a snowy Thursday afternoon at St. Agnes Hospital following heart surgery. Dan was born February, 18, 1951, in Fond du Lac to Anna and Dan Krug.
Dan was a truly special person who was loved by everyone who knew him or happened to meet him by chance. His big heart and kindness was admired by all those who knew him. He had an inquiring mind and loved reading, writing and studying history (especially WWII).
Dan's true joy was to help people. He worked for Fond du Lac County organizing the Meals on Wheels program for the elderly. He also worked for Advocap and Clarity Care helping developmentally disabled people find and keep employment.
Dan also loved softball and recently served as a committee member of the Fond du Lac softball Hall of Fame. He was an experienced outfielder who played softball five nights a week in his prime. After his "retirement" he couldn't stay away and spent many nights watching games at Lakeside Park. His spirit and unique sense of humor will live on in the hearts of his family forever. He will be sorely missed.
Dan is survived by his beloved daughter, Megan Krug, of Chicago; his parents, Anna and Dan Krug of Fond du Lac; his brother, John (Nina) Krug of Sun Prairie; and sisters, Cathy (Jim) Schroeder of Fond du Lac; Barb (Jim) Rickmeyer, Linda Gustavus, Lynn (Pat) Fox, Mary (Bill) Draheim, Paula (Bob) LaVinge, Betty (Terry) Fritch, Ann Krug of Dallas, Patty (Dan) Waas of Lomira, Jan (Mike) Streetar of North Fond du Lac; and his 16 nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and nephews.

Dan was a wonderful person that I got to know over the years when exercising at Club Olympia. He was always kind and funny - and whenever you asked what's new his face lit up to tell you something exciting his daugher was doing! He was a very special person and will defintely be missed. --Michele Hlavacka
