Reen, Cecilia 'Sis' M. (nee Breit)

Cecilia 'Sis' M. Reen (nee Breit), age 88, of Fond du Lac, formerly of rural Juneau passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac, WI.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 14 at St. Francis Home, Fond du Lac, WI at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Vernon Wagner, OFM officiating. A visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac.

Cecilia was born on April 26, 1925 in the township of Lomira, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Ries) Breit. She was a graduate of Mayville High School and the Dodge County Normal School (also known as the Dodge County Teachers College). She then received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin of Oshkosh and then her Master's from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She taught in schools in Knowles, Theresa, Columbus, Fond du Lac, and ended her career in the Dodgeland District. She was a member of the Knowles Band, The Daughters of Isabella, local AARP of Watertown, Watertown Senior Citizens, National Education Association, Wisconsin Education Association, and the Juneau Lioness Club. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, and horseshoes. Her true passion was traveling the world and the friendships she made along the way. Cecilia lived her life by her motto: 'Run like hell while you still can…'

She is survived by her one brother Ralph of Fond du Lac. Further survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers- Frank, Clarence, and Raymond. 2 sisters- Agnes and Helen.

Memorials may be directed to the St. Francis Home or to the Fond du Lac City Humane Society.
