Wiedmeyer, Florence "Flossie'

Florence "Flossie" M. Wiedmeyer (nee Steger) passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at the age of 92 years. Flossie was born on January 18, 1921, in the town of Theresa, to George and Alma (nee Greiner) Steger. She married Harold Wiedmeyer on June 7, 1939, in the town of Theresa.

Flossie began playing her squeeze box at the age of 16. She provided for herself by playing the squeeze box in the Theresa area, and she went on to play for others in the Dodge Co. area in the years to come. Flossie was the first "music therapist" in the family, and she has since influenced her granddaughter to pursue this as a career.

Flossie also helped Harold on the farm. She not only helped Harold with all the daily chores, she also cared daily for her chickens to make sure they survived the winter.

Flossie is survived by her ten children Patricia (Walter) Kubicek, Phyllis (Stanley) Puls, James (Marie) Wiedmeyer, all of Slinger; Shirley (Jerome) Konrath of Mesa, AZ; Kenneth Wiedmeyer of Juneau; Fred (Diana) Wiedmeyer of Menomonee Falls; Larry (special friend, Mary) Wiedmeyer of West Bend; Deborah (Frank) Mazza of Bridport, VT; Marty (Peggy) Wiedmeyer of Theresa; and Leon (Yi Hong) Wiedmeyer of Fond du Lac; one daughter-in-law, Nancy (Kit Thompson) Wiedmeyer of Theresa. She is further survived by her 38 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. Flossie is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; sons, Walter and Andrew Wiedmeyer; grandson, Brad Wiedmeyer; parents, George and Alma; and brother, Leonard (Olive) Steger.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Flossie will be at 5 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 102 Church St. in Theresa, with Fr. Richard Stoffel presiding. Visitation will take place at the church from 2:30 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013. Interment will take place at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Nenno at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Cedar Lake Health & Rehabilitation Center (5595 Cty Rd. Z, West Bend, WI 53095).

The family wishes to express a special Thank You to the staff at the Forestview Wing at Cedar Lake Health & Rehabilitation for all their care and compassion for Flossie during her stay.
