Wiley, James E.
James E. Wiley, 81, a resident of Eldorado, WI, passed away April 9, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital.
He was born March 25, 1932 in Santa Monica, CA, a son of the late Darwin and Kathryn Brown Wiley.
On July 30, 1954 he married Jean Stewart at South Gate, CA.
James served in the United States Army in the Korean War
. He was employed by McCullough Industry in the oil industry as a welder, and in the drilling operations. He later was employed by Giddings and Lewis Company as a machinery installer in California from 1968 until they moved to Fond du Lac in 1970 when he became a technical writer and instructor. He retired in 1999. James was active in the Fond du Lac Kennel Club and enjoyed showing dogs. He had a deep love of fishing both in California and Wisconsin, and taking cruises. He had an artistic flair for wrapping pool cues, fishing poles, and creating beautiful ceramics. James was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, the Fond du Lac Kennel Club, and the American Legion Post #75.
Survivors include his wife Jean, one daughter, Kim (Ken) Bahr of Oshkosh, one son Darwin (Julie) Wiley of Malone, five grandchildren, Jesse (Mandy) Baierl, Eric Baierl, and Amy (Derek) Arnold, Kristy (Jason) Weinke, and Ryan (Kelsey Rickerman) Wiley, six great-grandchildren. He is further survived by one sister Peggy (Jerry) Arndt of Horn Lake, MS, two nieces and a nephew, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation: Visitation will be held on Saturday April 13, 2013, at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent Street Fond du Lac, from 9:00 to 10:45 AM.
Services: Memorial services will be held on Saturday 11:00 AM at Hope Lutheran Church. Reverend Steve Huff will officiate. Cremation has taken place.
