Schoenfeld, Marion Myrtle
Marion Myrtle Zoch Schoenfeld, met her Lord on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 2:05 p.m. at Inland Christian Home in Ontario, CA, which is very compassionate to it's residents. Mom also had Kaiser Hospice that made her journey easier. She was very tired at 91 years of age and was ready to go to heaven.
Her grandkids called her, "Oma", which is German for grandmother. Her great-grandkids called her "Honey Grandma." She made her family beautifully decorated cakes for their birthday's and celebrations. Birthday's would not be complete without one of grandma's cakes. Mom was a quick wit and loved people. Mom was a homemaker most of her life, but she was also a business owner and a professional cook in Wisconsin.
She was born in North Fond du Lac, WI on October 24, 1921, to Lawrence Louis Zoch and Myrtle Nora Werth Zoch. She was the second oldest of 8 children. Marion graduated from North Fond du Lac High School in North Fond du Lac, WI. She married Gordon Otto Schoenfeld on March 10, 1945, in her family's home in Fond du Lac, WI. Mom took classes in cake decorating at Whittier CA Adult School. She received a Music Achievement Award at Fullerton Jr College. Gordon, her husband died on July 17, 1998 in Chino, CA. at 83.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Schoenfeld Lewis and husband Tom of Chino Hills, CA; and her son, Gerald Lee Schoenfeld of Willow Springs, CA.
Oma had seven grandchildren that adored her: Shawn Schoenfeld Miller of Rye, CO; Suzanne Lewis Silveira and husband, Martin of Riverside, CA; Matthew Lewis (deceased 7-9-1993); Randy Schoenfeld and wife, Eraina of Lancaster, CA; Aimee Lewis Hitchings and husband, Dave of Crestline, CA; Emily Schoenfeld Newton and husband Chris of Adel, IA; and Joshua Lewis and wife, Felicia of Chino Hills, CA.; nine great-grandchildren blessings: Daniel Miller of Fort Collins, CO; Isaac Silveira of Riverside, CA; Allisson Silveira of Riverside, CA; Jessica Miller of Rye, CO; Brittany Newton of Adel, IA; Olliver Silveira of Riverside; Ashton Newton of Adel, IA; Kaylee Lewis of Chino Hills, CA; Olivia Schoenfeld of Lancaster, CA; and Jacob Lewis of Chino Hills, CA.
Todd's Memorial Chapel of Pomona, CA, is doing the arrangements. Marion will be buried at Loma Vista Memorial Park, 701 Bastanchury Road, Fullerton, CA.
Pastor Michael Greenler will preside over the graveside service, her favorite music will be played and memorial readings from her loved ones. The family has chosen that memorial donations can be sent to Christ Lutheran Church, 5500 Francis Avenue, Chino, CA 91710 (909) 627-1433 in Marion Schoenfeld's name. She was a long time member and loved her church.
