Bugar, Melvin Raymond

Melvin Raymond Bugar, 79 years old, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 21 at 6 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, with Rev. Father Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take the following morning at the St. Theresa Cemetery, in Theresa.

Melvin was born on October 13, 1933, to Ignatius Jr. and Gertrude (Guelig) Bugar in Theresa, WI. After he was 9 months old, his father passed and later his mother married Peter Miller. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa.

Melvin went to Black Oak Elementary School in the Town of Herman. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1953. He worked for cheese factories in Mayville and Farmersville. He then worked for California Canners and Growers in Lomira. In 1979, he moved to Fond du Lac and worked at Brooks Industries. He joined Sacred Heart Church, where he ushered and enjoyed working for the church festivities each year. He later became a member of Holy Family Church.

He enjoyed the Brewers, Bucks, Nascar, and wrestling. He also volunteered for Loaves and Fishes.

He is survived by his brother, William (Mary Anne) Miller of Naples, FL; nephews, Brett (Connie) Miller of West Bend; Lee (Dawn) Miller of Watertown; niece, Danelle (Tom) Kern of Naples, FL; great-niece and nephews, Kaitlyn, Keaton, Paige, and Brand Miller, Kody and Hailey Kern; further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Ignatius in 1934; his stepfather, Peter in 1977; and his mother Gertrude in 1978.
