Cross, Mary Ann

Mary Ann Cross passed away unexpectedly at the age of 66 on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at St. Agnes Hospital from a massive stroke. Mary was born on November 8, 1948 to Gerald and June Bachman Cross in Fond du Lac Wisconsin. She was a 1967 graduate of Goodrich High School. She attended Beauty School and worked at Hills Beauty Salon in downtown Fond du Lac. She owned and operated retail stores in Oshkosh selling antiques and stained-glass windows. She later worked at various other businesses in town bartending, cooking and cleaning. Mary will best be remembered for her compassion and love for animals, flowers and generosity to her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her mother, June Bachman Cross, the Bachman family cousins - Jane, Janet, Barbara, Karen, Sharon and Mary Kay. The Allender family cousins - Mary, Patricia and Pamela. The Fottler family cousins - Michael, Diane and Carl. Second cousin - Barbara Kaufman, former husband Robert Lange and lifetime friends - Jeff, Patty, Art, Brian, Debbie, Dennis and many more.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Cross in 1959, paternal grandparents, John and Beatrice Cross, maternal grandparents Henry and Eva Bachman and cousin June Ann Allender Bichler (3/1/2013).

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place by Twohig Funeral Home.

A memorial and graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in the Spring 2015.

Very sorry to hear of Mary's passing. Knew her well during the 70s and 80s. She was my barber during my early band days. A vibrant, warm individual. We had a conversation a couple years back at an Oshkosh event. My sympathy to her family and close friends.

So sorry to hear this sad news. I knew Mary well and so her at our house in Oshkosh when a whole gang of us lived there going to school in Oshkosh. She was dating Jeff fulbright at the time and was over often. She was a beautiful person.
