Kruzan, Arlene A.

Arlene A. Kruzan (nee Hoepner), 86, of Horicon, was called to her heavenly home while surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Matthews of Horicon.

Arlene was born on September 8, 1926, in the town of Wayne, to the late Rudy and Lillie (nee Bartelt) Hoepner. In 1944, she graduated from Kewaskum High School and began working briefly for Purity Cheese Company, Pick Manufacturing, and Amity Leather. On November 30, 1946, Arlene was united in marriage to James Kruzan at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Theresa, where she was a life long member. Shortly after her marriage, Arlene became a homemaker raising her two girls from small on. She also kept a big garden and loved flowers. For many years Arlene cared for her aunt Pauline. When her aunt no longer needed her care, Arlene gave of her time by cooking at the legion club house in Theresa. She was an avid Legion Auxiliary Club Member of the Theresa American Legion Post #270 for 66 years.

Arlene is survived by her two daughters, Dianne Lynn (Frederick) Zingsheim of Theresa; and Linda Mae (Courtney) Daniel of Mayville; her brother, Rev. Robert (Virginia) Hoepner; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and many other relatives and friends.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, Rudy and Lillie Hoepner; her stepmother, Agnes Hoepner; her parents-in-law, William and Helen Kruzan Sr.; two aunts, Elsie Bartelt and Pauline Hoepner; her sister, Janet Maurin; three sisters-in-law; and five brothers-in-law.

Funeral services in honor of Arlene will be held on Thursday, November 15, at 1 p.m. at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church (113 E. Bonduel St. Theresa). Rev. Jon Learman will officiate and burial will follow in Theresa Union Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials to St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church or Generations Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
