Dorothy J. Henkes, 83, of Fond du Lac, entered eternal life on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

She was born on May 20, 1928, in Racine, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Henkes.
Dorothy was a graduate of St. Catherine's High School in Racine in 1946, and a graduate of Marquette University School of Medical Technology in 1952.
Dorothy was employed at St. Agnes Hospital and at Consultants Laboratory. She retired from Consultants Laboratory in 1990.
She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Community, St. Mary's Church.
Dorothy was a professed member of the Secular Franciscan Order and served in several offices in the Order. She was a member of the Association of American Society of Clinical Pathology, American Society of Medical Technology, Wisconsin Association of Medical Technology, and a former member of St. Anne Mission Group of St. Louis Church and St. Francis Nursing Home.
Survivors include special friends George and Pat Feudner of Fond du Lac, Henry and Susie O'Neill of Waupaca, Ken and Debra Beattie of Greenfield, and Jean Kedinger of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Margaret, in 1946; and one brother, Arthur Henkes and Arthur's wife Margaret.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. at Holy Family Parish, St. Mary's Church, 63 E. Merrill St.
Burial will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at Calvary Cemetery in Racine.
VISITATION: Visitation will be on Tuesday, Dec. 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. at St. Mary's Church.
A memorial has been established to the Holy Family Parish.
