Eleanor Rake Obituary
Eleanor was born on March 14, 1921 in Metomen Township, a daughter of James and Bernice (Lemeisz) Wanalista.
She was united in marriage to Theodore Rake on Nov. 22, 1938, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fox Lake.
After living in Fox Lake for a short time, they moved to Waupun where Eleanor was a devoted mother and homemaker.
She was talented at sewing and made clothing for herself and her family. Eleanor was employed at various local businesses over her working years, including Schultz Brothers 5 & 10; Ben Franklin; Guth Candies; Super's Ice Cream, and Coast to Coast Hardware, all in Waupun.
Eleanor was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waupun.
Eleanor is survived by three daughters, Eleanor Redeker, West Bend, Monica Weeden, Madison, and Kathleen (Byron) Kamphuis, Waupun; her son, Theodore (Joan) Rake, The Villages, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Mitchell (Amy) Redeker; Becky (Gary) Reynolds, Shelly (Mike) Leibundgut, Wendy (Dave) Backes, Dawn (Mark) Rohr, Jamie Rake, Jennifer (Jason) Morgan, and Nicole Kamphuis; nine great-grandchildren, Samantha and Tyler Redeker, Cayla and Jake Reynolds, Austin Leibundgut, Danny and Elisabeth Backus, Lucas and Makenna Morgan; four sisters, Theresa Mitzelfeldt, North Fond du Lac, Francis Rahn, Fox Lake, Lucille Wilde and Grace Eager, both of Randolph; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983; a daughter, Paulette Rake in 1999; a son-in-law, William Redeker; two sisters, Rosemary Hrobaky and Anna Tibbetts, and six brothers-in-law.
SERVICES: Funeral services for Eleanor B. Rake will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main St. in Waupun. Deacon Edward F. Cody will officiate.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waupun.
VISITATION: Eleanor's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m.
