Poch, Gordon F.

Gordon F. Poch, 84, of Plymouth died unexpectedly, on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.

He was born on February 27, 1928, in Fond du Lac County son of the late Rudolph and Viola (Zupke) Poch.

On April 10, 1948 he married Viola Loehr at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of Forest.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of Forest.

"Gordy" was hard a working business man his entire life. Some of his endeavors included farming, owning and operating a general store, a restaurant/golf course, trucking companies, and building homes and subdivisions. In his later years he enjoyed mowing lawns and running parts at his sons trucking company.

Gordy had many friends and business associates and enjoyed playing cards, socializing over coffee, and frequenting eating establishments. He was a giving and good friend to everyone who came into contact with him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Viola of Plymouth; three children, Charles (Barbara) Poch of Armstrong; Kay (William) Tabbert of Eldorado; Jeffery (Judith) Poch of Horicon; five grandchildren, Erica (Randall) Gretz of Appleton; Ashley (Jesse) Pisarik of Marion, IA; Adam (Paige) Tabbert of Yorktown, VA; Nicholas (Jennifer) Tabbert of Oshkosh; Jennifer (Kevin) Lauer of Hartford; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond Poch of Kiel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Andrew Poch; and a sister-in-law, Rose Poch.

Gordon was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and loved to see his whole family together at special occasions. His generosity to others cannot be overstated. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and especially his family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of Forest (Hwy 23 and W) with the Rev. Mark Barenz officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lyons Cemetery on Hillview Road. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Gordon F. Poch for St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Winnebago Lutheran Academy.
