Hughbert Retzleff Obituary
Hughbert A. Retzleff, 78, of Lomira, died Monday, May 28, 2012 at his residence. He was born on March 23, 1934 in the Town of Byron, the son of Erwin and Marqarette "Bessie" (Devereaux) Retzleff. On April 24, 1954 he married Hilarea A. Kahlhamer at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Kekoskee. He served in the National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserves. Hughbert worked in general construction as a steam fitter for forty-three years, at various companies including, Beloit Pipeline, and JF Ahern. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. He enjoyed trout fishing, hunting, gardening, lawn work, playing cards, spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and teaching them to fish and play cards.

SURVIVORS: his wife Hilarea Retzleff of Lomira, five children, Jean (David) Kottke of Fond du Lac, Robert (Kay) Retzleff of Ft. Atkinson, Thomas (Denise) Retzleff of Fond du Lac, Kenneth (Kelli) Retzleff of Fond du Lac, Mark Retzleff of Madison, 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brother, Ray (Judy) Retzleff of Old Fort, TN, brothers and sisters in law, Mary Retzleff of Fond du Lac, Janet (Carl) Mahnke of Mayville, Zandra (Arthur) Weiglien of Brownsville, Karen (Greg) Heir of Clover, VA, Goar (Karen) Kahlhamer Jr. of Mayville, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Winifred, one sister, Rosemary Fisher, and one brother, Roger.

VISITATION: Thursday, May 31, 2012 from3 to 6 p.m. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac. SERVICES: A private family service will be held.

Cremation will follow the private service and interment will take place at a later date at Estabrooks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Agnesian Hospice Hope, 239 Trowbridge Drive, Fond du Lac, 54935; or to Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent St., Fond du Lac, 54935.
