Geiger, Ronald E.

Ronald E. Geiger, 95, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, October 13, 2012, at St. Francis Terrace. He was born June 23, 1917, in the Town of Byron, the son of Charles and Ella Tratow Geiger. On July 24, 1948, he married Thelma C. Menge at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fond du Lac, and she preceded him in death on September 24, 2008. Ronald worked for Fond du Lac Stone Company for 40 years as a stone cutter and also as a maintenance man at National Exchange Bank for 11 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 1941 to 1945, serving 34 months overseas in the South Pacific. He was a member of Holy Family Parish. In his retirement he enjoyed refinishing furniture. Dad was a quiet man who may not have often actually spoke words of love, but instead constantly showed his love to God, family and friends. He was always there to help others with his assistance, advice and expertise. He gave such wonderful and loving care to our Mom during the last years of her life that were besieged with illness. When asked his secret to living to be such a "young" 95, his answer was to keep busy working, for working was his hobby as well. We, his family feel truly blessed and are grateful to him for being such a loving Dad.
