Neumeyer, Vernon Leo

Vernon L. Neumeyer, 85 years old, of Mayville, WI, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Hope Health and Rehabilitation in Lomira, WI.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville and also on Thursday, October 3rd from 9 am until the time of Mass of 10 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, October 3rd at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville with the Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Mayville with graveside military rights conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69.

Vernon was born on November 18, 1927, in Township of LeRoy, WI to Adolph and Regina (nee Rohlinger) Neumeyer.

Vernon was employed by Koehring Company, where he was an accountant until he retired in 1982. He was an active member at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mayville, where he served in many areas. He was a member of the Dodge County Republican Party, where he served as a delegate. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army Signal Core and was stationed in Japan from 1951-1953. He was also a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, Waukesha Chapter. In his spare time, Vernon loved to read anything he could get his hands on. He also enjoyed music and a good walk. He was also an avid stamp collector.

Vernon is survived by his sisters, Anita Steger of Mayville, Arlene (Gerald) Beck of Theresa, and Mary (Robert) Spiering of Waukesha. His brother, Jerome (Susan) Neumeyer of San Diego, CA. his 12 nieces and nephews. 5 great nieces and nephews. Further survived other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Merle Steger.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville and also to Agnesian Hopsice.

*Vernon's family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care provided to Vernon and also the staff of Agnesian Hospice Hope for their care in Vernon's final days.
