Carol Schwartz

Carol Schwartz age, 70, died on Wednesday June 25, 2014 at Harbor Haven Nursing Home. Carol was born in Fond du Lac on August 4th 1943 daughter of Charles and Kathryn Schwartz. She graduated from St. Mary's Springs High School in the class of 1961. Carol was well known in the hospitality industry working at the deli at Pick and Save, Old Country Buffet, Holiday Inn, yet is best known for her many years as the Manager of the lunch counter at Woolworths. Carol was avid volunteer with the Girl Scouts and Mariners for many years and recently with Galloway House and the Red Hats. She and a group of friends affectionately called "The Old Lady Girl Scout Troop" helped with many community activities.

Carol enjoyed being on the water especially trips on the S.S. Badger, visiting Door County, listening to Bobby Vinton and Elvis, looking for a deal at discount and thrift shops, spending time with Gladys the bird, playing cards, collecting Light Houses, dinning out and cheering on her beloved Brewers and Packers. Her friends will always remember her as a very caring and giving person who always met you with the most contagious smile and giggle.Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Thomas Gaffney and wife Beverly, nephews Tommy, Michael, Randy and nephew in law Glen.

Survivors include her nieces Christine Berres, Bonnie Braun, Deb Gaffney, Cheri Guy, Sandy Gaffney, and nephew Rick Gaffney. And her close friends Larry Hahn, Mary Meixensperger, Pat Stephany, Linda Stephany, Jim Christman along with many others whose life she touched.

Visitation: Visitation for Carol Schwartz will be on Monday, June 30, 2014, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of The Word services will be at 11:00 AM at the funeral home on Monday. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment of cremated remains will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery following the services. Additional information and guestbook may be found at

As Carol wished memorial funds will be given to the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in New Franken WI for the installation of an elevator.
