Leona J. Schneider, 88, a resident of Pipe, WI, passed away August 4, 2012 at GranCare Nursing Center, Fond du Lac.

She was born December 28, 1923 in Johnsburg, a daughter of the late John and Louisa Kohlman Karls.

On January 4, 1944 she married Edwin Jacob Schneider at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg.

Leona loved her garden; it was her pride and joy. She was employed by the Little Farmer, for 52 years. Leona was a member of St. Johns the Baptist Church and the church's Christian Mothers. Leona and Edwin enjoyed dancing and were long time members of the We Love to Dance Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Ann (Kenneth) Feyen of St. Peter and Virginia (Gordon) Haensgen of Johnsburg, one son James R. Schneider of Fond du Lac, nine grandchildren, Tracy (Chris) Hettenhaus, Brian (Terri) Feyen, Jeff (special friend, Jackie) Feyen, Ron (fiancee, Jenny) Feyen Scott (Amy) Feyen, Glenn (Vicki) Haensgen, Gregg (Megan) Haensgen, Gail (Shane) Rabe, and Gina (Michael) Popp, 12 great-grandchildren, Abby, Catrina and Brooke Hettenhaus, Gabrielle, Michaela, Brett, Gracie and Cooper Haensgen, Conner and Parker Popp, Landon Rabe, and Elyse Feyen. She is further survived by a brother, Roger (Lyla) Karls of Johnsburg, sisters-in-law, Vangie Karls of Fond du Lac, Millie (Orville) Haensgen of Johnsburg, Lorraine (Alex) Ebertz of Fond du Lac, Erna Halbach of Mt. Calvary, Rosie Schneider of Fond du Lac, and Margie Schneider of Johnsburg, two brothers-in-law, Ralph (Marion) Schneider of Fond du Lac, and Tony Schmitz of North Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Edwin, on February 27, 2009, a grandson, Joey Feyen, brothers and sisters, Viola Forstner, Florence Mand, Ludwina Mueller, Clara Dreifuerst, Ben Karls, Clem Karls, Angeline (at birth), and Francine Schmitz.

Visitation: Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 7, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Zacherl Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 8, 2012, 12:00 noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg. Rev. Joseph Coerber will officiate. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
