Kenneth Narges Obituary

Narges, Kenneth

Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Narges, 73, of Fond du Lac, WI passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013 at home surrounded by his wife and family. He was born in Fond du Lac, WI on July 24, 1939 to the late Frank Wayne and Elenora (Hauser) Narges. He grew up working on the family dairy farm in Waucousta, which he eventually took over after his father passed away in 1964.

On April 23, 1960 he married his high school sweetheart Bonnie Welsh and together they raised 8 children while working the family farm for the next 35 years. In their early years, Kenny and Bonnie enjoyed snowmobiling with friends and spending time up north. He also played amateur baseball for Rock River, and enjoyed trap shooting in Eden. As his children grew up, he loved watching and supporting them in all their sporting events, and in later years did the same for his grandchildren until his health prohibited him from doing so. He loved giving nicknames to his children and grandchildren which would then forever become his term of endearment for them.

He was an avid collector of tractors with a special fondness of John Deere. At one point he owned over 25 tractors and always enjoyed spending time working on them. He also enjoyed going to tractor pulls and was excited to see one of his grandsons with the same passion.

In 1995 they sold the family farm and he and Bonnie moved to Luxemburg, then Tigerton, before settling in Fond du Lac in 1999 where he enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything else. He also loved listening to Polka music, with his favorite band being the Hauser Hot Shots, who was first led by his late uncle Marvin Hauser and later by Marvin's sons. He also loved watching sports on TV and in person, and until his health prevented him, he enjoyed creating beautiful baskets and planters of flowers for the yard and deck, for his family to enjoy.

Kenny will be sadly missed by his wife Bonnie with whom he would have celebrated 53 years of marriage this April. He is also survived by his sister Janet Narges of Fond du Lac, and leaves behind a legacy of 8 children, 25 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and countless other family and friends all of whom will forever carry a piece of him in their hearts. His children are; Vicki (Gary) Gruenewald and their children Jeremy and Holly; Randy (Kim) Narges and their children Madison and Pierce; Patti Narges and her children Jason (Kim), Pam (Anthony), Danica (fiance' Caleb), Katelyn and Alissa; Ritchie (Beth) Narges and their children Cory, Kyle, Logan and Max; Jeff Narges and his children Tyler and Carson; Tim (Julie) Narges and their children Brittany (fiance' Wes), Austin, Nick and Shayley; Jodi Schrauth and her children, Sam, Kelli, Jamie, Jacob and Billy; and Tammy (Mike) Brownell and their children Olivia and Mitchell. He is further survived by 2 great grandchildren Clayton and Graham.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Elenora Narges; his father-in-law Bartley Welsh and mother-in-law Viola (Draves) Welsh; and brother-in-law Gerald Serwe.

Respecting Ken's wishes, a private family service will be held. A celebration of his life will follow on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 3:30 to 7:00 pm at the American Legion Hall, 500 Fond du Lac Ave. Fond d Lac. Please come join Kenny's family to share memories, and celebrate his life. Memorials are appreciated to Agnesian Hospice Hope.

Thank you, Dad for your unending love and support and countless laughs. We will always cherish the great memories and miss you dearly.

The family would like to extend a very special appreciation to the nurses, Dr. Yuan, and Dr. Ciecierski at the Fond du Lac Dialysis Center for all the special care and concern they gave to Ken. They would also like to thank the heart team at St. Agnes Hospital led by Dr. Lily, Dave and Catherine for the great care and compassion they showed him. They were truly wonderful! In addition, a special thanks to Ken's family doctor, Dr. Fownes and his nurse and all the staff at the North Fond du Lac Clinic who always lifted his spirits and to the nurses and staff of Agnesian Hospice Hope. You are the greatest!
