Steven J. Blagoue Obituary
Blagoue, Steven J.

Steven J. Blagoue, Sr., 81, of Fond du Lac, died peacefully on March 23, 2013, with his family at his side, at Hospice Home of Hope.

Steve was born on Mother's Day, May 10, 1931, in Hibbing, Minnesota, the son of Stephen and Mary Lamprecht Blagoue. When he was nine years old, Steve's mother died and his family moved to Minneapolis, where he attended Minneapolis Central High School. On August 1, 1954, Steve married Barbara Ann Sang of Oshkosh at Hope Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. In 1955, Steve, Barbara, and Barbara's father, Rudy Sang, opened the Greenwood Grill, and in 1963, they opened Tucker's Hamburgers, a family business now in the fiftieth year of operation.

Steve was a longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac. He was an avid reader and an accomplished bowler. Steve appreciated the many friendships that he made at Parkway Lanes, where he bowled for decades with his team from Klaetsch Sporting Goods. Steve was a wonderfully supportive husband and father who was completely devoted to the lives and activities of his children and grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his wife; his brother, Jim of Pensacola, Florida; two sons, Steve (Kathy) and Tom; and four grandchildren: Tommy (Leigh), Ben, Joe, and Charlie; and by two great-grandchildren; Finley and Rudy. He is also survived by his loyal friend and bowling partner, Bob Evans, who spent many hours at his side during his last days.

Steve was a gentle, kind, caring man who always put the needs of his family and friends ahead of his own. His selfless, unconditional love set a wonderful example for all of us and we will miss him dearly.

The funeral service will be at noon on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Steve Huff officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. The visitation will be at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hope Lutheran Church or to Hospice Home of Hope.
