Pons, Donald J.
Donald J. Pons, 66, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, in Sheboygan, Wis.
Don was born March 8, 1947, in Schenectady, N.Y., to the late Leo C. and Frances E. Kuzniar Pons, Jr. In 1965, he graduated from Maine-Endwell Senior High in Endwell, N.Y. Don received engineering degrees from Broome Technical Community College in Binghamton, N.Y., and in 1971, from Tri-State College in Angola, Ind.
Most recently Don was employed by John Deere in Horicon, as well as by Batteries Plus in Fond du Lac and Green Bay. Previously Don successfully pursued a career as a mechanical engineer, manufacturing, packaging, managing quality control, selling and marketing products that varied from Baby Ruth candy bars to hospital equipment. Prior employers included Curtiss Candy Company, Nabisco Brands, and Monsanto. He enjoyed business and family travel in the USA, Germany, Mexico and China. Don also flew for Air America in Vietnam.
Don is survived by his daughter, Allison M. Cornett, Salt Lake City, Utah; his sisters, Kathryn (Peter) Kinslow and their children, Michael and Colleen, Charleston, S.C.; and Patricia Jokel and her son, Nathan, Northborough, Mass.; and his brother, Harry (Betty Jean) Buyce, Northville, N.Y., and their sons, Stanley and Bradley and their families.
Private services will be held in South Carolina, Massachusetts and New York.
