Kiser, Gladys Lena (Ericksen)

Gladys passed away August 22, 2013, in Fond du Lac. Wisconsin, at age 98. Gladys was born in Denmark, Wisconsin, to Adolph and Mathilda Ericksen. She served in the United States Army Nurses Corps in France and Germany during WWII from October 14, 1943, to October 28, 1945, and worked as a County Nurse in Green Lake County for a number of years.

Survivors include a brother, Harold (Ellynn) Ericksen; brother-in-law, Leo (Marie) Kiser, Sr.; sister-in-law, Berniece (Gilbert) Taylor; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; two sisters, Esther and Jeanette (Rev. Vernon Steffensen) and three brothers, Raymond Ericksen, Edmund (Phyllis), and Adolph JR. (Marion).

Gladys attained the rank of First Lieutenant and will be interred with full military honors at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery next to her husband, Tom, who passed away on June 30, 2013, and who was also buried with full military honors.

A brief funeral service was held on Friday, August 30, at 1 PM in King, WI.
