Earl F. Luebke, age 80, of Iron Ridge, WI, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at The Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev Lutheran Church, Browns Corner. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Richard J. Boeck, Jr. officiating. Interment will take place at St. John's Cemetery Browns Corner.
Earl was born the son of Arthur and Linda (nee Fischer) Luebke on April 19, 1933 in Browns Corner, WI. He was a 1952 graduate of Mayville High School. He married Marilyn G. Kehl on September 18, 1955 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ashippun, WI. Earl was the owner and operator of Earl's Sportsman's Trading Post in Iron Ridge for over 32 years where he was also a talented gun smith.
Earl was a lifelong member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Browns Corner.
He enjoyed nature and the time spent hunting and fishing with his family and friends especially the deer hunts in Bruce, Wisconsin. Earl also liked trap shooting and rifle target shooting. He enjoyed trips at the White River Cottage in Wautoma, snowmobiling, and always loved a good joke. He also had a sense of travel and adventure that took him though out most of the U.S., Mexico, and Europe. He was also a member of the Dodge County Antique Power Club in Burnett, Wisconsin.
Earl is survived by: his wife of 58 years, Marilyn of Iron Ridge; his daughters, Joy L. (Michael) Woreck of Beaver Dam and Lisa G. Koch of Iron Ridge; his 5 grandchildren, Brian P. Schindel, Jennifer L. Schindel, Brett A. (Kristina) Koch, Nicholas S. Koch, and Ashley A. Koch; his great-grandchildren, Chanse J. George, Julianne L. George, Wyatt J. Koch, and Bennett D. Koch; his sister, Sue Whelan of Madison; his sister-in-law, Hortense Luebke of Iron Ridge; his brother-in-law, Doug (Betty) Sorensen of Hartland. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Franklyn, 2 sisters, Adeline Drozd and Bernice Sperling.
