Harold C. Manske, of Fond du Lac, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013, at the Hospice Home of Hope. He was born June 30, 1931 in Fond du Lac to Harold A. and Viola M. (Andrew) Manske.
He married Donna Tautges on January 20, 1951. They had three children, Steven, Jeffrey and Debra.
Harold enlisted in the United States Air Force stationed in Georgia, South Dakota, and California. After their return to Fond du Lac in 1962, Harold ran a mink ranch, on Hwy. 45, with his father until 1984. For many years he managed Traveler's Inn. Since 1972 he served on the Fond du Lac Town Board currently as Town Chairman. During his term, he was instrumental in bringing water utilities to the west side of the Town of Fond du Lac.
Harold enjoyed golfing, hunting, being outdoors, working in the yard, and especially enjoyed fantasy football with his son and friends.
Harold is survived by his daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Manske of Fond du Lac; grandchildren: Ryan Manske of Milwaukee, Teresa (Bill) Simpson of Iowa, Jennifer Wiskow of Florida, and Justin Wiskow (Kendra Kastein) of Fond du Lac; two great-grandson's, Seth and Carter Simpson, four sisters: Carol (Bob) Lange of Fond du Lac, Janet Wigton (Dallas Hansen) of St. Peter, Joan (Bob) Blum of Burlington, and Marlene (Lew) Loberger of Fond du Lac; one brother in law Donald Tautges; step grandchildren, Kelly Gross and Matt Gross; one step great grandson Caden; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Harold is preceded in death by his wife Donna, parents Harold A. and Viola M. Manske, an infant son Jeffrey; his daughter Debra Wiskow; his son Steven Manske; and his sister Mary Rentmeister.
Visitation & Services: Family will receive relatives and friends at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. with a service to follow at 5:00 p.m. at Zacherl Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Agnesian Healthcare Hospice Hope for their care and support.
