Lechner, Daniel Lee "Bugsy'

Daniel Lee 'Bugsy' Lechner, age 54, of Kekoskee, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at his residence.

A funeral service for Bugsy will take place on Saturday, April 19, at 2 o'clock p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville, with the Rev. Barry Hoerz officiating. A visitation will take place Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville. Burial will take place at Kekoskee Cemetery and Military Honors will be conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69. A luncheon will follow at the Mayville American Legion Post #69 in Mayville.

Dan was born on August 19, 1959, to Robert E. "Huck' and Jeanette A. (Dethardt) Lechner in Beaver Dam. He was a Mayville High School graduate in 1977 and he had received his associate degree. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked at Quad Graphics for 18 years before opening his own business, Bugsy's Best in Kekoskee. He was lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville. He was also a member of the Kekoskee Fire Department. In his spare time, Bugsy enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He loved to socialize with his friends at Budahn's and at the Mayville American Legion. He enjoyed nature and the trips deer hunting with is brothers. Bugsy loved the time he got to spend with his family, friends, and his cat, "Kitty".

Dan is survived by: his brothers, Tom (Diane Sperling) Lechner of Fond du Lac; Robert (Suzanne) Lechner of Fond du Lac; and Donald (Marlene) Lechner of Kekoskee; his nieces and nephews, Matthew (Jamie) Lechner, Rachel (fiancé, Kyle Sanden) Lechner, Adam (Heidi) Lechner, and Andrea (Jacob) Lechner-Becker; his great-nephew, Matthew Jr. and his great-niece, Nora.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Ann Lechner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Veterans Memorial of Mayville, Inc.
