Edna Lee (Ridgway) Armontrout(1923 - 2018)

Edna Lee (Ridgway) Armontrout, 94, of Centralia, passed away Saturday August 10, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday August 20, 2018 at Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Rowena, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time on Monday. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia.
Edna Lee (Ridgway) Armontrout was born December 25, 1923 in Boone County, daughter of George William Dewey Ridgway and Oneta Lee (Rouse) Ridgway. She married Clarence Howard Armontrout June 8, 1945 in Fayette, Missouri. Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Armontrout worked as a schoolteacher. In 1946, she and Howard established Broadview Farm in Centralia Missouri and farmed for over 60 years. She was a long-term member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church. She was also active in Gideons International, was an active volunteer at the VA hospital for over 20 years, and worked as an Elections Judge for many years. Mrs. Armontrout was an avid gardener, known for her rows of scarlet canna lilies, and a skilled seamstress. "Mother" or "Grandma Eddie" was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is preceded by her husband of over 67 years Howard, her son Leslie Keith, and her brother Roy Linwood Ridgway. Survivors include her son Carl Armontrout, daughter-in-law Sally Armontrout, grandchildren Leef Armontrout and Leah Spencer, and great grandchildren Cassady and Charlotte Spencer.
