Garrison Brown Bruce(1923 - 2018)

Garrison Brown Bruce, 94 of Centralia, died Thursday, July 19, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Bruce donated his body to science and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Garrison was born on December 21, 1923 in Thompson, the son of LeRoy Luke and Mary Edna (Wilfley) Bruce.
On September 7, 1941, Garrison married Hazel Griffin in Thompson, and she preceded him in death on February 9, 2006.
Mr. Bruce is survived by his children, Ralph Bruce (Martha) of Centralia, Gary Bruce (Debbie) of Centralia, Judy Heinrich (Ken) of Bazine, KS, Virginia Mathews (Kenny) of Thompson, Mike Bruce (Jill) of Centralia, Pat Sanderson (Nicki) of Thompson, Kevin Sanderson, Paul DeJaynes; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Along with his wife, Hazel, Garrison was preceded in death by two children, Rosalie, and Rodney Bruce; sisters, Edna Yager, Mildred Davenport, and Barbara Stephens.
Garrison was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved farming, and was well known for raising amazing watermelon and cantaloupe. Garrison and his wife raised 40,000 chickens a year for many years. He spent many hours helping his wife fix and re-upholster furniture.
