Evelyn F. Lawson Obituary
Evelyn F. Lawson, 94, of Centralia passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at The Bluffs.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born on March 27, 1924, in St. Louis the daughter of Harry and Josephine (Hassler) Helling, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on May 4, 1944, in Pine Lawn, MO, to Paulus Edwin Lawson, Sr. who also preceded her in death on March 11, 2004.
Evelyn graduated from Mattoon High School in Mattoon, IL. She worked for the University of Missouri in the Registration office. She was very active in VFW Post #280, where she served as past president of the VFW Auxiliary; she was also a Beeline clothing consultant. She loved to roller skate (she was a speed skater in her younger years) and loved to crochet.
She is survived by: her children: Paulus Lawson, Jr. and wife Brenda of Columbia; Tina Nord of Texas; Ruth Robb of Centralia; and Rita Ketterman of Texas; grandchildren: Charles Lawson and Jena of Centralia; Melissa (Lawson) Richards and Tom of Columbia; Leslie Lawson of Kansas City; Christy (Robb) Dawson and Keith of Centralia; Kim Robb of Mexico, MO; Jeff Robb and Becky Gilbert of Centralia; Michelle (Nord) Turnbow and Charles of Texas; Meredith (Nord) Lopez and Jerry of Texas; Jill (Nord) Franceschi and Ivan of Texas; and Ashley Ketterman of Texas; 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; sisters: Thelma Graber of Andover, KS; Shirley Garbe and husband Harold of Carriere, MS; and Barbara Parkison of Elma, WA; brothers-in-law: Doug Lawson and wife Louise of Centralia; Lowell Lawson and wife Judy of Troy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: two brothers, Raymond and Irvin Helling; and two sisters: Ruth Reuter and June Guinnee.
Memorials are suggested to the Central Missouri Honor Flight.
