Hugh C. Engle, 95, of Paris passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home in Paris.
Hugh was born on August 10, 1922 in Paris, MO the son of Hugh and Ruby Williams Engle. He married Mary E. Towles on December 14, 1950 in Fulton, MO she preceded him in death on February 14, 2013. Hugh is survived by one son, Blanton (Vicky) Engle of Paris; 4 grandchildren, John (Megan) Engle, Jacob (Ellen) Engle, Troy (Julie) Crum, and Brant (Ann) Crum and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Eric Engle.
Mr. Engle served in the U.S. Army during the World War II. He also served as the Monroe County Circuit Clerk and Recorder for three terms before working at the Paris Savings bank for 20 years and retired as the Vice President of the UMB bank he and his son farmed Monroe County for many years. He was a member of the Paris Union Lodge #19, the American Legion Post #221, the Odd Fellows and also the Mt. Airy Baptist Church where he was the oldest living member and served as Deacon.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Agnew Funeral Home in Paris with Reverend Dan Campbell officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until time of Service on Wednesday. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Paris.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Airy Baptist church or the Monroe Manor nursing home in Paris.

So sorry to hear of Hugh's passing. Thanks for giving Roger and I rides to Mt. Airy vacation Bible School,( I think Roger appreciated going more than loI), the friendly advise, and being such a great neighbor to us all those years.
