WESTMINSTER -- Lucille "Lu" T. (Belliveau) Richard, 87, died Monday, November 5, 2012. She was the wife of the late Ovila J. Richard, the love of her life, who passed away in September 1972.
She was born on the glorious day of June 23, 1925, in Leominster, daughter of the late Henry and Dora (Sawyer) Belliveau. She attended St. Cecilia's Elementary School where she was a member of the church choir, and also attended St. Bernard's High School.
An avid reader, especially of historical romance novels, she also had a remarkable talent for crocheting and a wonderful sense of fashion. She loved vacationing at the Cape and spent many winters after her retirement visiting her daughter in Arizona. Above all, she was the cornerstone of many family parties, particularly their annual 4th of July gathering at the family lake house, and was happiest surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Lucille worked at Cluetts and Tilton & Cook in her early years, and later retired from Digital Equipment Corporation.
She is kept alive in memory by her children, Elaine Richard and partner Catherine Hendricks of Arizona; James Richard of South Carolina; Rene Richard and wife Lynn of Leominster; Catherine O'Leary and husband James of Uxbridge; Linda Rahmberg and husband Ray of Hudson; Donna Cusick and husband Bud of New York; and Denise Gaudet and husband James of Westminster. "Memere" also leaves six grandchildren, Andrew Rahmberg and his wife Julia da Silva, Daniel O'Leary, Brittany Rahmberg, Sara Masiello and her husband Andrew, Emily Cusick, and Kathleen O'Leary, as well as her sisters, Claire Richard and Lena Albert of Leominster. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Belliveau and sister Aline Albert. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and all who were blessed by her presence and all who loved and cared for her.
RICHARD -- The funeral will be held Saturday, November 10, from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, with a Mass at 9:00 A.M. in St. Cecilia's Church, 170 Mechanic Street, Leominster.
